Operation Med School is a one-day conference aiming to inspire high school students to pursue a career in medicine by providing insightful information on the many ways to get involved with medicine in high school, the process of medical school admissions, the diverse career paths after graduation, and much more. OMS offers a variety of keynote speakers, interactive workshops, engaging panels, and other activities annually at our conference. New Haven is the first international OMS conference and will be hosting its first conference this year.
This Year’s Theme: New Frontiers
This year, our conference has the theme of “New Frontiers”. The conference will focus on the bond between student and professional, and will feature professionals in medicine, research, engineering, and other medicine related fields. Both the conference and the attendees are embarking on a journey to new frontiers, a first step into the world of medicine. As such, OMS New York 2018’s conference will be called OMS New York 2018: New Frontiers. Stay tuned for more details about the event itinerary!
OMS continues to make an active effort to target youth in financial need and from underrepresented populations, and giving them a chance to experience the potential of a career in medicine through OMS, who may not otherwise be able to attend. We are a non-profit organization, and all revenue goes either towards charity, or to venue and catering costs. Thus, we are proud to be making available financial assistance in partnership with local high school teachers. Please email [email protected] for more information.
Why should I buy a ticket, and what differentiates Operation Med School from other events?
Operation Med School is a national, non-profit, student-run organization that hosts annual conferences all across the country, providing students with the knowledge they need to succeed in their journey towards a medical career. We are the most established, longest-running high-school-student-oriented conference organization, with all of our previous conferences selling out. Students will explore the path to medical school with a representative from the Yale School of Medicine, attend Q&A sessions with real medical school and undergraduate students, listen to researchers talk about their work, attend an opportunity fair, and even more.
